Vanfest '08

My self and a friend drove up to Malvern in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The trip was uneventful apart from my usual surprise when I get up before 9am that there are already so many people up and about, achieving stuff.

The number of vans on the road was encouraging, growing in numbers as we draw closer to the Malvern show grounds.

Parking was great, not to far from the entrance, although filling up fast when we arrived.
The field was a bit damp, fortunately it was no longer raining.

Once inside, having paid the £10 admission fee, we received a free brochure of adverts and a useful map. The map was a little difficult to relate to the world as we saw it though. May have had some thing to do with the fatty I just had though.

There was considerable confusion in the arrivals, with the sales area containing a lot of campers, so the process of looking at examples for sale was a little tricky.

We soon learnt that the owners of the T1 splittys really value their possessions.
Eg a few splitty owners asking in excess of 25K for “special” vans. Good luck to them.

We left after sampling some real coffee (good) and some hot mini sugar donuts, YUMM
However there were not enough tables provided, resulting in hanging about needlessly, then pouncing the moment one stands to leave.

Bit of a queue on the way out, but didn’t take long before we were heading back via the M6.

Overall I was disappointed with the show, and horrified at the bogs, YUCH
